Vattnets kung - Rå
\"Ser du vattnet, vad det är stilla
Ytan glänser i månens sken
Ingen vet vad som mörkret gömt
En jungfru blek och ren

Vattnets kung har nu fått den lilla
Se, nu ler han i månens sken
När han håller sin dyra skatt,
en jungfru blek och ren

Sov i ro,
Nu rinner dina drömmar ut
I månens sken
I natt kan dina lekar vara slut

Sov i ro,
Du vilar i en farlig famn,
som vaggar dig till ro\"

English translation
\"See the water, so calm
The surface shines in the light of the moon
No one knows what darkness hidden
A maiden pale and pure

The king of the water now have the little one
See, he smiles in the the light of the moon
When he holds his precious treasure
A maiden pale and pure

Sleep in peace,
Your dreams will flow out
In the pale moonlight
To night your games may be over

Sleep in peace,
You're resting in a dangerous embrace,
That rocks you in peace"

Finally I got some time to finish this piece inspired by the haunting, beautiful, swedish song called Vattnets kung (King of the water) by Rå.
It's a song inspired by a story called De två systrarna (the two sisters), inspired by an medieval ballad (I haven't heard the story, but the whole CD is related to it.).
The black haired guy, "The king of the water", is Näcken, a creature from swedish folk lore, appearing as a beautiful, naked man who sits by the river playing a fiddle, luring everyone who listens to follow him down in the river, and drowns them. (Swedish fairytale creatures love to drown their victims!)
I don't know the whole story behind this scene, but the song talks for itself.
I wish I could post a link to the song, but I can't, it's not to be found on youtube, not popularing enough I guess XP It's impossible to even find ANYTHING about the band or the CD, which sucks >_<'

Anyways, this was very relaxing to do. The scanner killed the colours, that are much softer in reality. I'll try to re-scan it someday...
All done with watercolours, black and white ink and some pearlescent acrylic colour.

They look beautiful and captivating. And another story about drowning people! :XD: That should teach kiddies to stay away from venturing wild water by themselves.
Very well done. :D :aww:

Thank you! ^^
But I don't think it's drowning in this specific scene, only holding here as a captive, kinda, but still, much drowning! It was their original purpose I guess, scare kids XD

Welcome! :aww:
Lol, it's still pretty awesome. I should tell those kinds of stories to my kids if I ever get any. ;P
